For the past 11 years, London’s the Rug Company has been collaborating with guest designers such as Vivienne Westwood and Paul Smith to create contemporary, handmade rugs in an array of styles. Recently, Los Angeles–based interior designer Kelly Wearstler was asked to lend her signature California-modern aesthetic to a new collection, becoming the first American interior designer to have a line with the company.

Wearstler—best known for her work at resort developments such as the Viceroy Mayakoba and Viceroy Anguilla—created an eight-piece collection (priced from $8,640 to $13,995) that features finely hand-knotted Tibetan wool or wool and silk blends. Each rug is distinctive, from bold Art Deco–inspired pieces such as Maze to more subtle styles such as Nautilus. The collection is available through the Rug Company, which has showrooms in New York and Los Angeles.
