Clubhouse: Alpine Indulgence
The Élan Collection makes its debut at Idaho’s Tamarack Resort.
April 1, 2008
With a brand-new Olympic-size halfpipe, two new ski runs, a nearly complete mountain village, and plans for a Fairmont condo-hotel that quickly sold out its first offering of real estate last spring, Idaho’s Tamarack Resort has earned widespread accolades in its first few years of operation. However, the 3,600-acre resort community, located 90 miles north of Boise, is now garnering even more attention thanks to its latest offering, the Élan Collection at Tamarack."Tamarack is the first new all-season resort in America in 20
years, and it’s been very well executed," says David Disick, who founded the
Élan Collection along with builder-developers Don Pitarre and Andrew Pitarre.
"What attracted me to Tamarack was its dedication to quality development, as
well as the wonderful housing market that still exists in the area," adds
Disick. While some resort towns have experienced a slump in sales, Tamarack’s
market remains strong, with 673 residences totaling more than $515 million in
sales in the past four years.
Upon completion in 2010, the Élan Collection at Tamarack will
house 61 two- to four-bedroom units, ranging from 1,400 to 2,660 square feet, in
three buildings linked by a garage/storage structure and two great rooms. The
Élan program provides the deeded ownership of a private residence club,
along with the flexibility and network of a destination club. Each one-eighth
share is priced from $359,000 to $658,500 and guarantees owners two weeks in the
winter and two spring, summer, or fall weeks, plus bonus usage on a
space-available basis. "Not only do owners have an interest in the property, but
they are able to choose the specific home they want an interest in," says
Disick. "They have priority use of that home, but they are also able to use
other homes within the resort when they are available."
OZ Architecture, whose project portfolio includes the Little Nell and Deepak Chopra’s wellness center in Colorado, has been commissioned to design the property, which will combine the rustic vernacular found in the rest of the resort with contemporary touches such as expansive windows, broad overhangs, and porches.
One of Élan’s main attractions is its ski-in/ski-out location on a 3.5-acre plot perched just above the Tamarack Express lift, the resort’s main access point to its slopes. No other residential project at the resort has better access to the lift.
In addition to standards such as a fitness facility, pool, concierge, and private jet service, Élan’s amenities also include more innovative offerings such as a fleet of Harley-Davidson motorcycles available for exploring the Payette River Mountain country and Élan’s private wine club, which provides an international selection of vintages as well as the resort’s signature label. Élan owners also receive full membership to the Club at Tamarack—offering privileged access to the golf, ski, and boating facilities—and they can exchange their time at the "home resort" for time at other Élan destinations in the future.
For now, the collection is focused on its Tamarack debut. Sales
will commence later this year, through MLC Sotheby’s International Realty, and
the first tower is scheduled to break ground in July.
